1. Vacuum hose aging: Please replace the vacuum hose or vacuum pump hose . When using the Lanphan apparatus glass reactor, turn on the power switch. If the indicator does not shine: external power fails or bad contact, please let professional electrician check the power supply and outlet.


2. Power indicator lights but not rotating: Rotary shaft rust, stop using, contact with the supplier. Motor, electrical box failure, not connected seven core plug, reconnect seven core plug;


3. There is a vacuum, but can not pump: seal wear and tear. If the connect vacuum switch leaks, please replace the sea and switch. Vacuum not continuous or steady: please clear the dirt and check vacuum gauge and vacuum pump;


4. The vacuum suddenly disappeared: glass cracks, broken glass parts switch, exchange switch;


 

5. Fuse short circuit: the power switch is placed in the OFF position, and then set the fuse.

How to Properly Install and Maintain Metal Expansion Joints?

This article is a brief installation and maintenance guide for metal expansion joints. To better install and maintain the pipe expansion joints, users must obey to certain rules. Please check following tips about something you should and shouldn’t do regarding to pipe expansion joints.

Something you are not supposed to do on pipe expansion joint:

Do not remove any moisture-absorbing desiccant bags or protective coatings until ready for installation.

Do not use hanger lugs as lifting lugs without approval of metal expansion joints manufacturer.

Do not allow weld splatter to hit unprotected metal expansion joints. Protect with wet chloride-free insulation.

Do not drop or strike carton.

Do not exceed a pressure test 1-½ times the rated working pressure of the metal expansion joint.

Do not remove shipping bars until finish installation.

Do not use cleaning agents that contain chlorides.

Do not force-rotate one end of an pipe expansion joint for alignment of boltholes. Ordinary bellows are not capable of absorbing torque.

Do not use chains or any lifting device directly on the bellows or bellows cover.

Do not use shipping bars to retain thrust if tested prior to installation.

Do not hydrostatic pressure test or evacuate the system before installation of all guides and anchors. Pipe hangers are not adequate guides.

Do not use steel wool or wire brushes on pipe expansion joints.

Something you are supposed to do on pipe expansion joint:

Install single Van stone liners, pointing in the direction of flow. Be sure to install a gasket between the mating flange and liner.

Store the metal expansion joints in a clean dry area where it will not be exposed to heavy traffic or damaging environment.

Use only designated lifting lugs.

It is good practice to leave one flange loose until the pipe expansion joint has been fitted into position. Make necessary adjustment of loose flange before welding.

Remove any foreign material that may have become lodged between the convolutions.

Install the metal expansion joint with arrow pointing in the direction of flow.

With telescoping Van stone liners, install the smallest I.D. liner pointing in the direction of flow.

Make the piping systems fit the pipe expansion joint. By stretching, compressing, or offsetting the metal expansion joint to fit the piping, the joint may be over stressed when the system is in service.

Remove all shipping devices after the installation is complete and before any pressure test of the fully installed system.

 

Inspect for damage during shipment, i.e., dents, broken hardware, water marks on carton, etc.

The first thing to ensure chemical reactor safety is to check the connecting tube, flange and valves, once find leakage please change them immediately. Also check the fasten fittings and tighten them up. In a word, check every piece of component for the first time, ensure all components are in good condition.

The second important thing to ensure chemical reactor safety is properly maintenance of chemistry glass reactor. The chemistry glass reactor is made from high borosilicate glass, which is noncorrosive and high strength. To better fit the connecting piece, each valve and connecting mouth should be smeared with vacuum lubricating grease evenly, and if we use the grind mouth for a long time, the lubricating grease will become harden or oxidized, which cause difficulty in rotating. So it’s better to dismount the chemistry glass reactor’s glass mouth and wrap it clean by clean paper, then use methylbenzene and xylene solvents to carefully wrap it clean. But if grind mouth is fastened or adhered, it’s better not to force to dismount, alternative, heating method is an optional to soften the harden lubricating grease.

The glassware of chemistry glass reactor belongs to easily damaged parts, so during installation and use, please carefully check it. stainless steel hose or metal flexible hose is manufactured by welding the steam and butt of stainless steel hose ends together, and welding the fittings onto stainless steel hose. A stainless steel hose has excellent heat resistance and high pressure rating, it shows great adaptability when applying to high pressure and heat pipelines. Welding is the key procedure in the manufacturing of a stainless steel hose, if welding in a wrong way, a leak path can be created and bad for pipeline operation.

A rubber hose is manufactured by rubber material combining with cord fabric line inside the rubber layer. Rubber hose is easier to set in complex working condition since it has good flexibility. Rubber hose is convenient for replacement and its pressure range ratings up tp 10000 psi. Rubber material has good vibration resistance, thus rubber hose is best for pipelines that require resistance to vibration. However, rubber hose is not suitable for high pressure and strong external force pipelines. Comparing to metal flexible hose, rubber hose has shorter service life, it needs to be replaced in regular time.

What is the Principle of Rotary Evaporator?

Rotary evaporation is a technique most commonly used in organic chemistry to remove a solvent from a higher-boiling point compound of interest. A rotary evaporator is a distillation device that has been been around now for some years in the kitchens of renowned restaurants and prestigious bars.

The rotary evaporator, or "rotovap", however the correct diction is rotavapor, was invented in 1950 by the chemist Lyman C. Craig. It should be noted that this term is a registered trademark by Buchi. One of the famous brands of rotary evaporator is Buchi rotovap.

 

Next let’s have a look at the rotary vacuum evaporator principle. Take the Buchi rotovap as an example: Roto-evaporation requires mechanical rotation of a Buchi flask under vacuum. The rotation of the Buchi flask increases the surface area of the solvent to be removed, increasing the rate of evaporation, and reducing the risk of "bumping": when a large pocket of solvent vapor forms rapidly and displaces the surrounding liquid. How to Extend the Service Life of Double Glass Reactor?

The double glass reactor is a common apparatus in chemistry . In addition to the inverter, glass and motor related, the service life of double layer glass reactor is closely related to routine maintenance. In order to prolong the service life of double glass reactor and protect your benefit, please read this part carefully. The inter-layer of the double layer glass reactor can provide both high temperature reaction (the maximum can reach 300℃)and low temperature reaction( the minimum temperature can reach -80℃). These daily work has great damage on the lab reactor, so the routine maintenance is quite important.

The followings are the methods of double-layer glass lab reactor routine maintenance:

 

1. Check the interface of the instrument. Handle the equipment gently.

 

2. The interface of the instrument can not be screwed too tightly. It should be regularly loosened to avoid long-term lock caused by the connector biting.

 

3. Wipe the interface with soft cloth (instead of paper napkin), then apply a little vacuum grease. ( Cover vacuum grease well after use to prevent dust entering. )

 

4. Clean the seal regularly. The method is: remove the sealing ring and check whether there is dirt on the shaft, then wipe clean with a soft cloth and coated with a little vacuum grease to keep the shaft and seal lubricant.

 

5. The Teflon switch can not be tightened to avoid the damage of the glass.

 

6. Loosen each Teflon switch after stop, long-term static in the working state will make the PTFE piston deformation.


7. Start the power switch first, then let the machine turn from slow to fast, stop the machine when it is stopped, then turn off the switch.

 

8. After use, wipe the surface to clean grease, stains, residual solvent with soft cloth.

 

9. The electric part can not get water, and it is strictly prohibited to be affected by damp.

 

 

10. It is necessary to purchase authentic fittings, and using other accessories at will may cause fatal damage to the machine.
